Leben und Arbeit/biography
Cindy Schmid a.k.a. swinx wurde 1976 in Rostock geboren. Von 1995 bis 1999 studierte sie Rechtswissenschaften in Greifswald. Nachdem sie das Studium abgebrochen hat, machte sie von 1999 bis 2002 eine Ausbildung zur Mediengestalterin in Waren/Müritz. Seit 2003 ist sie freischaffend als Grafikerin und Künstlerin in Greifswald tätig. Ihr künstlerischer Schwerpunkt ist die Collage.
2010 stieß sie im Internet zufällig auf Susanna Lakner und nahm über die iuoma-Internetseite Kontakt mit ihr auf. Durch die iuoma-Plattform wurde sie vom Mailartvirus infiziert, Beteiligungen an diversen Mailartprojekten folgten. Postalischer und persönlicher Kontakt zu Lutz Wierszbowski. Ihr Credo: Freiheit + Individualität + Briefmarke = Mailart.

Cindy Schmid, also known as swinx, was born in Rostock in 1976. From 1995 to 1999 she did undergraduate studies in law at the university of Greifswald. From 1999 to 2002 she did an apprenticeship as a multimedia designer in Waren/Müritz. Since 2003 she has worked as a freelancer and artist in graphic design in Greifswald. Her artistic focus is the collage.
In 2010 she became acquainted with Susanna Lakner via the iuoma-website. Thus she has been infected by the Mail Art virus and participated in various Mail Art projects. Postal and personal contact to Lutz Wierszbowski. Her credo: liberty + individuality + stamp = Mail Art.
