Antonio Gómez was born in Cuenca in 1951. In the late sixties, he practiced as a self-taught in several categories. He was an actor, painter, photographer, and poet. In 1972 he published his first book of visual poetry. That same year he started with mail art, without really knowing what he was doing. He took the opportunity to communicate with hundreds of artists from around the world. To this day he believes in the power of social communication, which may be in its wealth of techniques, a model for real democracy.
Gomez has organized workshops and conferences and held lectures in schools, institutes and universities in Spain, Portugal and Brazil. He has set up the collection of experimental poetry in Pik, and coordinates the awarding of the prize for experimental poetry of the city of Badajoz since 2002.

Antonio Gómez wurde 1951 in Cuenca geboren. In den späten sechziger Jahren praktizierte er als Autodidakt in mehreren Sparten. Er war Schauspieler, Maler, Fotograf und Dichter. Im Jahr 1972 veröffentlichte er sein erstes Buch mit Visueller Poesie. Im selben Jahr fing er mit Mail Art an, ohne wirklich zu wissen, was er tat. Er nutzte die Gelegenheit, mit Hunderten von Künstlern aus aller Welt zu kommunizieren. Bis heute glaubt er an die soziale Kraft der Kommunikation, die in seiner Fülle an Techniken ein Vorbild für wirkliche Demokratie sein kann.
Gómez hat Workshops und Konferenzen organisiert und an Schulen, Instituten und Universitäten in Spanien, Portugal und Brasilien Vorträge gehalten. Er hat die Sammlung für experimentelle Poesie in Pik eingerichtet und koordiniert die Vergabe des Preises für experimentelle Poesie der Stadt Badajoz seit 2002.
Antonio Gómez hat über 20 Bücher mit Gedichten veröffentlicht.
