Die Künstlerin Ruth Wolf-Rehfeldt erhält den mit 50 000 Euro dotierten Gerhard-Altenbourg-Preis 2021 des Altenburger Lindenau-Museums. An die Künstlerin gingen 10 000 Euro, das übrige Geld werde für eine Ausstellung ihrer Werke und einen Katalog verwendet, teilte das thüringische Museum mit. Wolf-Rehfeldt wurde durch Schreibmaschinengrafiken bekannt. Sie wurde 1932 im sächsischen Wurzen geboren und lebt in Berlin. Ihr Atelier in der Mendelstraße 19 im Bezirk Pankow war ein Treffpunkt der Kunstszene der DDR. Kopien ihrer Werke kursierten als Mail Art in der ganzen Welt. Mit der Wende beendete Wolf-Rehfeldt ihre künstlerische Arbeit, weil sie dafür keinen Bedarf mehr sah, teilte das Museum in Altenburg mit.
The artist Ruth Wolf-Rehfeldt receives the Gerhard Altenbourg Prize 2021 from the Altenburg Lindenau Museum, endowed with 50,000 euros. The Thuringian Museum announced that 10,000 euros went to the artist, the rest of the money will be used for an exhibition of her works and a catalog. Wolf-Rehfeldt became known for typewriting art. She was born in Wurzen, Saxony, in 1932 and lives in Berlin. Her studio on Mendelstrasse 19 in Pankow was a meeting place for the GDR art scene. Copies of her work circulated as Mail Art all over the world. With the turnaround, Wolf-Rehfeldt ended her artistic work because she no longer saw any need for it, announced the museum in Altenburg.
