José Roberto Sechi was born in 1967 in Santa Rita D’Oeste, São Paulo, Brazil. He is a visual artist, poet, performance artist, visual poet, and samizdat publisher. In 1994 started participating in the Mail Art network. He is the curator of the alternative cultural space Sechiisland in Rio Claro, Brazil, where he maintains a space for contemporary art exhibitions (the Sechiisland’s Micro Gallery), a library for art and experimental publications (the Sechiisland’s International Library) and a samizdat publishing house (the Edições 100).

José Roberto Sechi wurde 1967 in Rita D’Oeste, São Paulo, Brasilien geboren. Er ist bildender Künstler, Poet, Performancekünstler, Visueller Poet und Samizdat-Verleger. Seit 1994 beteiligt er sich am Mail Art-Netzwerk. Er ist Kurator des alternativen Kulturraumes Sechiisland in Rio Claro, Brasilien, einem Ort für Gegenwartskunst-Ausstellungen (die Sechiisland’s Micro Gallery) mit einer Bibliothek für Kunst- und Undergroundpublikationen (die Sechiisland’s International Library) und einem Samizdat-Verlag (die Edições 100).
