Leben und Arbeit/biography
Helmut Zielke wurde 1938 in Berlin geboren. 1953 begann er eine Lehre als Kartograph und wurde zunächst in diesem Beruf tätig. Seit 1961 arbeitete er als Bühnenmaler beim Deutschen Fernsehfunk. Nachdem er 1968 Mitglied im Verband bildender Künstler der DDR wurde, war er freischaffend als Maler tätig. Von 1980 bis zur Wende beteiligt er sich mit seinen witzigen Collagen an Mail Art-Projekten. 1990 wurde er Mitglied im Berufsverband Bildender Künstler (BBK).

Zielke was born in Berlin in 1938. In 1953 he began an apprenticeship as cartographer and had been working in this field. Since 1961 he had been working as stage painter for the Eastern German Television. After his becoming member of the Association of Fine Artists in the former GDR he had been working as freelance painter. From 1980 up to the time of the Fall of the Wall he participated in Mail Art projects with funny collages. In 1990 he became member of the Professional Association of Fine Artists (BBK).
